Enjoy the most delightful cafes and food shops as Susan shows you her very favorites. Tastings include honey-laden baklava, soft Colombian sweet bread, flaky Greek spanakopita and much more! Learn the history of Greeks, Italians, Germans, Middle Easterners, South Americans and Southeast Asians that have made Astoria one of "the most diverse places on earth." The food tastings highlight the history and quirks of this Queens neighborhood. You will get the best food the area has to offer and Susan will prompt the people that make this section of New York to tell a story. Each place visited becomes a memory forever.

We will meet at 11AM- Take the N train to 30th ave.  Meet in front of Grand Wine and Liquor (30-05 31st street).  It is less than a half an hour subway ride from midtown Manhattan.  Queens is the most diverse borough of New York City and Astoria is a great reflection of this diversity.  As we explore this neighborhood, we will sample a variety, 7-8 taste that reflect the diversity of the neighborhood. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather as we go rain or shine.  Wear comfortable walking shoes.  Since we are tasting food, please let us know if you have any food restrictions. The tour ends at Bohemian Hall, the oldest beer hall in NYC and you will be free to explore the neighborhood.  We suggest the Museum of Moving Image and Noguchi Museum.
