Your pro-photographer/instructor, photographing the Hudson Valley for decades, will take you and a maximum of 11 other people, to unforgettable places that you may not even know existed. Nature, wildlife and old-world era architecture is everywhere. Many attendees take the train or drive from various cities like Manhattan & Philadelphia plus neighboring New Jersey and Connecticut. With advice on photographing, you develop the art form and simultaneously see wondrous sites found only in the Hudson Valley. Monthly locales vary to learn new lessons in each workshop, year round while an instructor shares knowledge for photographing it. Beginner & advanced, have been enjoying our workshops for over 13 years. Advanced shooters begin with the in-the-field of a photogenic locale but for beginners, there is a pre session sit-down learn your camera controls. Everyone together, but with enough autonomy to allow each to capture what they see, the instructor tending to each participant.
Selecting a different photogenic locale for each workshop, an experienced, passionate pro-photographer, with teaching experience, will rendezvous with max 12 participants to demonstrate & supervise lessons on mechanics of digital cameras, as well as composition strategies, allowing each participant to turn snap shots into compelling images. There are long existing, easy to learn, composition techniques to capture a scene, person or activity. Each participant tries each technique while the instructor observes and coaches. Some composition terms, among several others which will be taught, include Leading Lines, Rule of Thirds, Panning & Layering. Once learned the composition tricks apply to any future photo activity whether a family get together, a neighborhood stroll or a once-in-a lifetime travel experience. Every workshop rendezvous is in a different scenic locale to vary photo themes from street portraiture, landscapes, interior lighting, architecture, action, etc.
